The basic steps are:


  1. Obtain a ERC20 token compatible Ethereum Wallet.


  1. Buy Ether from a cryptocurrency exchange such as Coinbase, Bittrex, Poloniex or Kraken.


  1. Transfer Ether to your wallet address.


  1. Send the amount of Ether you wish to contribute to our token sale contract address.


To participate in the token sale and acquire VIVID tokens, you need an Ethereum wallet or an application where you maintain the private key. Private keys are needed to correctly interact with smart contract functions, such as transferring tokens.


Only Ether is accepted for the token sale, so if you hold Bitcoin (BTC) or another ERC20 token, we recommend using ShapeShift to exchange them for ETH. This YouTube tutorial explains how to do a basic, “quick” exchange without needing to create an account.


Do not send Ether directly from cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase, Bittrex, Poloniex or Kraken. Exchanges don’t provide you with a private key. You need a digital wallet compatible with Ethereum tokens (ERC-20 standard) like:


  • MyEtherWallet (no download required)
  • MetaMask (Firefox and Chrome browser add-on)
  • Mist (Desktop)
  • Parity (Desktop)


Ethereum transfer transactions require some amount of fuel known as “gas” to execute the operation or run the particular smart contract code. Gas is the unit that gets paid to a miner for performing the action (or work). Token sale deposit transactions need to have a non-default gas limit because of its complexity. The default gas limit is usually too low to correctly perform a token sale deposit. We advise a gas limit of 99,000 (10 GWEI) or higher.
